On the morning of October 5, 2024, EMMA Hanoi 2024 officially kicked off at Automall Carpla Pham Van Dong with 60 competing vehicles and 165 competition segments across 21 categories. The event attracted significant attention, with the Best of Sound category setting a record with 36 registered vehicles, making up over 50% of the total participants.
VinFast electric cars and luxury models such as Volvo and Mercedes-Benz also joined the competition, adding diversity and excitement. The event applied scoring rules in line with international standards set by EMMA Asian Finals 2024, helping contestants familiarize themselves with the higher benchmarks.
International judge from Malaysia, Mr. Howie Choo, noted that the Vietnamese contestants have made significant progress in both installation skills and sound tuning. He also expressed confidence that Vietnam will continue to achieve success at EMMA Asian Finals 2024.
Mr. Ngo Ky Lam, Admin of Otosaigon and Head of the organizing committee, shared: “This year’s EMMA Hanoi has surprised us with the quality of the contestants. Despite weather challenges, the participants maintained their spirit. The event’s success is due to the flexibility in organization and the support of the Vietnam Car Interior Association (VACA) and CARPLA. We hope that EMMA Hanoi will become an annual event, further promoting the car audio scene.”
The event featured 10 judges, including 5 from Vietnam, marking significant progress in local expertise. The competition results were close, with winning margins as narrow as 3-4 points. Team Hai Minh Car Sound claimed the SQ X-Limited championship with 489 points, beating the nearest competitor by 5 points.
