GZUC650GZ introducing brand new Uranium Sound Quality Drivers

Since it´s introduction two years ago, GZ´s Uranium speaker line was setting standards when it comes to affordable Sound Quality. The key model GZUC 650SQ, a 165mm / 6.5 ”2-way component system, has been selling very well thanks to the excellent performance. Now GZ accepts the challenge to make it´s successor model even better, and the key points of that development goes deep into details.

Starting from the 165mm / 6.5” mid bass driver, the development started with the intention of more Surface area, which was achieved by using a new shaped WFWC® cone. At the same time, the moving mass has been optimized by reducing the size of the dust cap. Then, the aluminum basket was substantially improved and delivers now even better ventilation with its slight and flow-optimized struts. Partial oscillation could almost be eliminated by the new LDW® surround. The complete driver was then refined and tuned using GZ´s owned Klippel® system.

The next step was to improve the tweeter performance once again which started from a new more powerful neodymium motor. A special ventilation method has been applied, similar as the top end Reference Tweeters are using. Power handling and efficiency of this new tweeter could be noticeable improved while at the same time, the coupled air volume lowers the resonance frequency. Moreover, this 25 mm / 1” tweeter comes with a new shape of its silk dome, which leads to a better off-axis performance. And to emphasize the visual appearance and the quality statement of it, this so called GZUT 25SQX was embellished with black anodized aluminum cabinet.

Last but not least, also the crossovers have been redesigned and improved by using high Quality components to ensure lowest possible losses. A bi-amping option has been added as well. The new GZUK 65SQX and GZUT 25SQX will be available with the crossovers as GZUC 650SQX Speaker system, but also separately for active applications. All of those new Uranium components will arrive to the market in December 2015.
