GZ to complete its Competition line with two brand new 6.5″ Speakers
In the growing market of “Open Show Car Audio”, Ground Zero is established very well with a wide product range under the name “Competition-Line”. The key points are product performance, quality and the highest efficiency. But GZ is also setting trends in that category, one of it was the special 20cm / 8″ 2-Way Coaxial horn driver which was launched last year together with some real powerful 8″, 10″ and 12″ midranges and hard bass woofers.
However, GZ continuous to extend and optimise this line further and so two brand new products will be launched from September 2015, both of them are 165 mm / 6.5″ drivers:
At first, GZCF 165COAX! Same as it´s bigger brother GZCF 200COAX, this unique Coaxial speaker is designed to use two drivers in one magnet system. That allows to realize the smallest dimensions for a full range speaker with a compression tweeter. It´s paper cone was reinforced by fibre and adapted by an
extremely lightweight flat foam surround. The basket itself is an aluminium cast and holding a massive 40 Oz ferrite magnet. As for the tweeter, a compression driver with its round spherical wave horn and a 35 mm / 1.38″ PEN driver performs the frequencies from 3.5 kHz up to 25 kHz. The 165COAX is realising 97 dB on the mid woofer and 100 dB efficiency on the tweeter.
And second, the new GZCM 6-4PPX will round up the range of powerful midrange drivers. Same as the bigger 8″ and 10 “versions, this new 165 mm / 6.5″ speaker comes with a massive aluminium phase plug in the middle of the fibre reinforced paper cone and the stiff coated W-surround. An important point of the development was the wide frequency band usage from 150 – 10.000 Hz. Another focus went to the extreme power handling, the high power 50 mm / 2” EISV-CCAW voice coil can handle up to 400 Watt MAX!
Both of the new competition line products will be available in September 2015.
