Much more than just a face-lift

GZ launching updated 4K Mono amplifier focusing on high efficiency and extreme stability

GZmono2In the category of high current SPL amplifiers, Ground Zero is setting the performance benchmarks with its Plutonium Line, the famous “GZPA´s” since years. Now, the 4K model received significant improvements focusing on the use while running the amp on low impedance and in SPL competitions.

From outside, the main change on the new GZPA 1.4K-HCX is the update to the new Ground Zero heat sink design, the higher models GZPA 1.8K-HCX and GZPA 1.10K-HCX will be updated with this new anthracite aluminum heat sink with engraved Ground Zero logo as well within this year. But the significant changes are inside! Technically speaking, the PCB of this 4K Mono amp is absolutely re-designed.

One of these changes is the new driver PCB, which avoids now even more output power variation on thermal fluctuation. That’s the reason why a fan is not needed anymore. Another conspicuous change when looking at the main PCB, is the increased amount of MOSFETs used; also a new type is applied which can deliver more current on maximum output power especially for performing in full power applications such as SPL competitions. There are roughly ten more upgrades, such as the better protection circuit or the double quantity of the 680uF/160V capacitors.

Concerning the power rating and features, the specifications of the GZPA 1.4K-HC have not been changed compared to the previous GZPA 1.4000DXII. The new Mono performs 1200 / 2400 / 4000 WRMS @4/2/1 Ohm and 5000 W Max. In link mode even 10000 Watt. Included are Low pass / band pass and subsonic, same as bass boost and phase shift.
