Thanks to a new vehicle-specific Inbay solution this act can now be combined with easy and convenient wireless smartphone charging: ACV’s tailor-made Inbay applications turn center console compartments in Mercedes C-Class-Models (W204) and (S204), C-Class Coupés (C204) and E-Class Coupés (C207) as well as in E-Class Cabriolets (A207) into wireless charging units.

Just like every Inbay product these smart Mercedes-specific charging devices are Qi compatible and ready to charge a broad array of iOS and Android Phones.
Qi is facilitating the interoperability of chargers by implementing resonant inductive coupling between (energy-) transmitter and receiver. The Qi standard makes it possible to provide a universal charging interface to various smartphone brands and types. In practice, this results in no more hassle in looking for the right charging cable when different cell phones are in use.
Inductive charging means that a transmission coil, powered by a high-frequency AC, builds up a magnetic field which inducts the power into a second coil in the Qi standardized smartphone from where it passes into the battery.
Non-compatible smartphones can easily be retrofitted by a special protective shell (Wireless Charging Case) for iPhone 5 / 5s / 6 / 6s and wireless charger modules (for Samsung Galaxy S3 / S4 / S5 / Note2 / Note3)
